RadioShack DIY was a print and online campaign that focused on teaching RadioShack users how to build gadgets and devices by using accessible tools available in RadioShack stores.
We wanted to get as close as possible to what a one-to-one tutorial experience would feel like. The entire art direction of the campaign was a metaphor for the “working space” – how your tools (components, batteries, pencils, rulers, etc.) would look like when spread out across your workshop table. We took pictures of some of these tools, brought them into our design and modified the look of traditional graphic user interfaces like buttons and headers to make them look like transistors or any material you would typically find on a DIY workshop.
